Youth Ministry

“We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done. So the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but keep his commands.”
— Psalm 78:4, 6-7

About Our Youth Ministry

Redeemer's youth ministry is for students grade 6-12. We want to see our students learn about God through His Word in the Bible in the context of a welcoming community in which they can grow, struggle, be challenged, and build friendships.

Our hope and prayer is that Redeemer’s Youth Ministry will be for both the children of our church and their friends and neighbors who may not belong to Redeemer, or any other church for that matter.

Our desire is to come alongside the families of our church and seek to assist them in the raising of their children in the ways of the Lord Jesus. The goal isn't to replace parental involvement, nor usurp it, but to assist, encourage, support, supplement, and complement healthy family Christian nurture.

Our dream is that as we seek to pursue the students who belong to Redeemer, both privately and publicly, we pray that a sweet community is forged that is attractive, inviting, and outward facing to our neighborhoods - more specifically our unchurched, de-churched, or simply curious neighbors - here in Midtown. We long for even our Youth ministry to reflect the fact that Redeemer is “a church not for ourselves”, but for the perpetuation of Christ’s kingdom here in our corner of His world.

What We are Doing:

SUNDAY NIGHT "LARGE GROUPS"

Our dream is to see midtown’s teenagers experience the love of Jesus Christ so that their individual lives and their broader society flourish through Christ. We seek to achieve this through weekly "large group" meetings on Sunday nights where our Junior High and Senior High students gather together for shared meals, games, and time spent learning from the Bible.

Service Opportunities

Students join in with the rest of Redeemer to participate in service projects throughout the year. Students have opportunities to join in with the rest of Christ’s body to love and serve and learn from our neighbors all over the city.

Small Groups

Every other week we meet in small group settings in homes or around dinner tables to go deeper into the scriptures of the Bible and relationship with each other. These are divided amongst ages and genders.

ONE ON ONES

Our staff hopes to also be able to occasionally meet up with our students for meals in a one on one setting to get to know them and walk patiently alongside them while seeking to make the gospel love of Jesus Christ real to them.

Retreats

Each summer, students are invited to attend RYM (Reformed Youth Ministries) Conferences in places like Panama City Beach, Florida (and even Colorado some years!) with other church leaders and students from all over the southeast to study God’s Word in the Bible, strengthen existing friendships, make new friends, participate in tons of fun activities/events, and to rest. We also attend our Covenant Presbytery's Fall Conference (CPYC!) at Victory Ranch every year with other churches in our denomination in this region of the country.
